Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) govern the use of services provided by Comfortable Coping, a child life therapy practice in Australia. By accessing and using our services, you agree to comply with these T&Cs. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Definitions

·         "Child Life Therapy": A therapeutic practice designed to support children and families in navigating medical, emotional, and developmental challenges.

·         "Client": Refers to the child receiving therapy, and in cases where the child is under the age of 18, their parent or legal guardian.

·         "Guardian": Refers to the parent or legal guardian of a minor client.

·         "Services": The therapeutic interventions, assessments, and consultations provided by Comfortable Coping.

3. Services Provided
Comfortable Coping offers child life therapy services that include:

·         Psychological assessments for children

·         Therapeutic play and activities to help children express emotions

·         Coping strategies for dealing with hospital visits, medical procedures, or trauma

·         Support for children with chronic health conditions

·         Parent and guardian support

We aim to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for the child and their family.

4. Fees and Payment

·         Fees: The fee for each session will be agreed upon at the time of booking.

·         Payment Methods: Payments are accepted via credit card, direct deposit, or other methods as outlined during the booking process.

·         Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a fee of equal to that of the appointment.

5. Consent

·         Informed Consent: Before the first session, the parent/guardian must provide written informed consent for the therapy services, outlining the goals of therapy and any potential risks.

·         Parental Consent for Treatment: Therapy services will be provided only with the explicit consent of the parent or guardian of the child.

·         Confidentiality and Privacy: We respect your privacy. All personal information, including medical details and therapy notes, will be kept confidential unless disclosure is required by law or in emergency situations.

6. Child Protection
As mandated by Australian child protection laws, we are obligated to report any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the relevant authorities. This may involve sharing information with child protection agencies or law enforcement.

7. Client Responsibilities

·         Honesty and Cooperation: Clients (and their parents/guardians) are expected to engage honestly and cooperatively with the therapist.

·         Attendance: It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the child attends scheduled sessions. Regular attendance is important for the success of therapy.

8. Rights of the Practitioner

·         Professional Judgment: The therapist reserves the right to determine the most appropriate course of treatment based on professional judgment and the child’s best interests.

·         Termination of Services: We reserve the right to terminate services if the therapist believes that continued therapy is not in the best interest of the child or if there is a breach of the terms (e.g., non-payment, disruptive behavior).

9. Limitation of Liability
We make every effort to provide the highest standard of care; however, we are not responsible for any outcomes or consequences arising from the therapy services, including medical complications or failures to improve.

10. Refunds
Refunds for services will only be provided in the case of over payment or cancellation in accordance with our cancellation policy.

11. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you are dissatisfied with our services, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can resolve any issues. We are committed to providing a high standard of care and will work with you to address any concerns. In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved, we may refer to the relevant regulatory body.

12. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Comfortable Coping reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you in writing (via email or notice on our website) and will become effective immediately unless otherwise stated.

13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia and the state of NSW in which Comfortable Coping operates.

Neesha completed her Bachelor of Education (specialising in Early Childhood Teaching) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2011.

​

She has worked as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Teacher in New Zealand for 3 years and subsequently worked full time as a public Child Life Therapist at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, NZ for 4 years before moving to Sydney, Australia with her family.

​

She currently works part time at Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick, NSW and privately at Comfortable Coping helping families in the Sutherland Shire and St George Areas.
